Andre, the World Tour rookie, was unstoppable throughout the competition systematically dismantling competitors, including Dane Reynolds in the quarterfinals, despite his 9.77 score for a massive backside 360 method air. The crucial win puts Andre at 4th place in the World Tour standings tied with the Aussie ripper Mick Fanning.

While you might expect the young Andre to spend the week after his monumental win celebrating, he will instead come straight off his win to surf in the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro on May 4th, where he will come head to head with numerous World Tour surfers, many of which also happen to Lowers locals.
