WAVEWATCH NIKE 6.0 LOWERS PRO FORECAST FOR WED 4/29

Forecaster: Adam Wright        Effective: Tuesday April 28th, 2009

Forecast for Wednesday April 28th, 2009
On Wednesday we are going to see a new and inconsistent SW swell (200-220) peak over the last leftovers of our weekend S swell while it mixes with some background NW windswell.

socal_nws_wednesdayamWave heights will continue to average around waist-chest high while the bigger sets come through around shoulder high. Since Lowers likes the SW swell I wouldn’t count out a few head high sets on that midmorning-lunchtime tide push.

Weatherwise the weak coastal eddy will continue on Wednesday. Look for light onshore to light S winds around 5 knots for the morning, with some possible cleanup around midmorning. NW winds around 10-13 knots moves in through the afternoon.

Wednesday generally looks pretty playful but a little inconsistent at times. Shape will be a little funky in the morning again thanks to the eddy winds and extreme low tides…look for the best shape and most consistently around midday. – Adam Wright, Forecaster, Wavewatch.com

Long-Range Forecast Outlook

We are going see fairly similar surf for the next several days as the small SW swell (200-220) and local windswell continues to mix together. The SW’er will peak on Wednesday with chest-shoulder high sets and then slowly fade through Thursday.

A second small SW swell (again 200-220) will arrive on Friday (May 1st) and peak into Saturday. This swell will be similar in size with mostly chest high surf and some shoulder high sets on the lower tides.

We will continue to see the mix of light to moderate coastal eddy conditions for the next several days as well. Right now it looks like Wednesday will be similar to Tuesday and will continue to be a bit bumpier than the rest of the work week. Conditions will clean up Thursday but the eddy has the potential to return on Friday.   – Adam Wright, Forecaster, Wavewatch.com
