Wavewatch.com Forecast for the Lowers 6.0 Pro – April 27th

Forecast for Tuesday April 28th, 2009Effective: Monday April 27th, 2009
On Tuesday we are going to see a mix of fading S swell (180-190), local NW windswell, and a new SW swell (200-220) that is slowly going to fill in through the day…eventually peaking overnight into Wednesday. Look for surf in the waist-chest high range on most sets with some shoulder high waves sneaking through on the lower tides.

Weather looks ok, not great, but ok…cloudy and overcast throughout the day. There will be a bit of coastal eddy as well…so look for light onshore to light S winds around 5 knots for the morning, with some possible cleanup around midmorning. NW winds around 10-13 knots moves in through the afternoon. wind_wwatch-image-427

socal_nws_tuesdayamOverall it looks like Tuesday will see average, semi-playful, Lowers conditions with a touch of wind bump. Best surf will likely be through midmorning as the new swells starts to fill in, the tide slowly raises, and the winds start to shift around. – Adam Wright, Forecaster, Wavewatch.com

Long-range Forecast Outlook
We are going see fairly similar surf for the next several days as the small SW swell (200-220) and local windswell continues to mix together. The SW’er will peak on Wednesday with chest-shoulder high sets and then slowly fade through Thursday.

A second small SW swell (again 200-220) will arrive on Friday (May 1st) and peak into Saturday. This swell will be similar in size with mostly chest high surf and some shoulder high sets on the lower tides.

We will continue to see the mix of light to moderate coastal eddy conditions for the next several days as well. Right now it looks like Tuesday will be a bit bumpier than the rest of the work week. Conditions will clean up Wednesday/Thursday but the eddy has the potential to return on Friday.   – Adam Wright, Forecaster, Wavewatch.com
